Dear Friends of ICJC,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the International Center for Japanese Culture founded at Yokohama International School. Heralding in our sixth year, the 2016-2017 season promises to be another successful and exciting year for ICJC. All of our administrative and teaching staff look forward to even more exciting and innovative programs.
On this website you will find information on ICJC programs, such as:
- Friday Night Lecture Series
- Community School
- Yearly Workshops and Special Events
- YIS Curriculum Enhancement Programs
- YIS Japanese Music Program
- and much more.
At ICJC, you can explore traditional and modern Japanese arts and culture in a wide variety of disciplines—music, dance, film, literature, and visual arts. Throughout the year, we offer educational programs, special lectures, musical performances and film screenings to the public.
We’re also extremely pleased to host artists and educators from all over Japan who will visit ICJC to create, perform, and share their knowledge with our students and community members. Feel free to browse through our website and check our events calendar for more information on ICJC concerts and special events.
If you’re passionate about the culture and arts of Japan, I personally invite you to join ICJC as a member or a volunteer. You can be an important part of our mission to promote and secure the future success of all Japanese traditional and modern arts.
Dr. Joseph Amato
